Marriage Therapy in Manhattan Beach
Some of the most common reasons couples seek marriage therapy are problems with communication, managing conflict, a lack of emotional and physical intimacy. Relationship distress can occur even in the most committed marriages. The goal of therapy for many includes addressing relational wounds, strengthening friendship, deepening connection, learning new strategies to manage conflict in healthy ways, and building greater trust and commitment.
In addition to communication challenges and lack of emotional and physical intimacy, other common reasons for marital discord include money problems, lack of affection, infertility, differing parental styles, arguing, negative behavior habits, and infidelity.
If you are experiencing any of these issues you may be feeling deep sadness, anger, resentment or loneliness. It’s important to recognize that most relationships can use help from time to time. If you need some assistance, you don’t need to wait until a crisis arises, you can fine tune your relationship skills now. Of course, counseling can be invaluable when in the throes of a crisis, as well.
Dr. Angela Bisignano Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist in Manhattan Beach and an expert in couples’ relationships. Her goal is to help strengthen your relationship, guide you in learning ways to manage conflict constructively, deepen emotional connection, and build trust and commitment. Dr. Bisignano can guide you in improving communication and problem-solving skills, increase empathy and create the desire to turn toward, rather than away from each other. Broken relationships can be repaired when both partners are willing to work at it and you have a good therapist.
